Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, der auf der Bühne schon längst den Don Giovanni singt, war ein spielfreudiger und kernig singender Leporello. Michael Schade wusste die Arien des Don Ottavio mit seinem wunderbaren hellen Tenor innigst zu gestalten. „Dalla sua pace“ – die silbernen Töne von anrührender Schönheit wurden zum Ereignis. Franz-Josef Selig war ein imposanter Komtur. Lorenzo Regazzo war darstellerisch ein exzellenter Masetto, sängerisch kämpfte er jedoch mit seiner Intonation. Adrianne Pieczonka, mittlerweile längst ins dramatische Fach gewechselt, sang eine ausdruckstarke, schönstimmige Donna Anna. Anna Caterina Antonacci war eine passable Elvira, Angelika Kirchschlager eine süße Zerlina. Ian Holender, damalsDirektor der Staatsoper gelang es, Riccardo Muti wieder ans Haus zu holen.
