To read about major symphony orchestras in the press, it is easy to get the impression that orchestras are being phased out of American life. But is this really the case? What is actually going on at the grass roots level? In an effort to counter the notion that all symphonies are in trouble, I recently posted a request on Linked In for community and semi-professional orchestras (the grass roots of the orchestral world) to share their success stories.
