English-born American conductor and composer Andrew Massey has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer – aged 72. A graduate of Oxford University, throughout his five decade conducting career he held principal positions with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Fresno Philharmonic, New Orleans Philharmonic and the Rhode Island Philharmonic. Toledo Symphony Orchestra has signed the Canadian conductor Alain Trudel as its next music director, starting in September 2018. Trudel, 51, succeeds Stefan Sanderling, who served 15 years. Here’s his first radio interview.
