Last year The Friends of Felix Yaniewicz presented two recitals in Edinburgh to celebrate the return of the restored 1810 Yaniewicz & Green square piano associated with the Polish-Lithuanian violin virtuoso and composer, Felix Yaniewicz who founded the first Edinburgh Festival in 1815. There is a chance to catch excerpts from these in a short documentary that The Friends of Felix Yaniewicz have produced about the piano, available on the Friends' website. Later this year, an exhibition at the Georgian House in Edinburgh, Music and Migration in Georgian Edinburgh (25 June - 22 October 2022) will explore Yaniewicz' life in more detail with musical and personal artefacts associated with Yaniewicz along with letters from correspondents such as Nicolo Paganini and Angelica Catalani. Further details from the Friends' website.
