I will concentrate on the poet’s words here, and below you can hear the singing by Barbara Bonney. I will always be a huge admirer of Soprano Barbara Bonney; and yes… she’s no longer appearing in concerts, in Operas, etc. Ms. Bonney left the US many years ago, and she’s been living in Salzburg, Austria where she studied music. Earlier today I came across a demonstration of the clarinet as an instrument, as done by an orchestral player. After a short explanation, the clarinetist began to play music that jogged my brain. It was the start of an amazing song by Franz Schubert scored for clarinet, soprano, and piano. How wonderful were these distant memories! Listen to these
