As the sun sinks,so does the spirit. Then a sudden vision :"Siehe, wer aus des Meers krystallner Woge" Almost in unison the four voices spring to life, decorating the word "kristallner" so it shines. Australian composer and performer Brendan Collins’ Concerto for Trumpet premiered at the International Trumpet Guild conference in Georgia, USA by the internationally recognised soloist, Judith Saxton (University of North Carolina). Brendan’s compositions have been included on solo recordings of leading Australian artists including Paul Goodchild, Jeanell Carrigan, Victoria Jacono–Gilmovich, Susan Collins, Matthew Van Emmerik, Steve Rosse and Scott Kinmont. Written during the Great War by Australian composer F.S. Kelly (1881-1916) who was killed in Gallipoli, In Memorium Rupert Brooke is in memory of the English poet known for his idealistic war sonnets especially “The Soldier”. Tickets are on sale now.
