Images of Jonathan Dove's 'Marx in London' at Theater Bonn
Jonathan Dove: Marx in London - Theater Bonn (Photo Thilo Beu) I recently interviewed Jonathan Dove about his new opera Marx in London (libretto by Charles Hart), which has received its premiere at Theater Bonn, in a production directed by Jürgen R. Weber, conducted by David Parry with designs by Hank Irwin Kittel. Mark Morouse was Marx, with Yannick-Muriel Noah as Jenny, Marie Heeschen as Tussy, Christian Georg as Freddy, Ceri Williams as Helene and Johannes Mertes as Engels.Now we are able to present a few pictures of Jürgen R. Weber's steam-punk production (photographs by Thilo Beu). The production runs until 14 February 2019, full details from the Theater Bonn website. Anyhow, here’s Mollie and Rich: Mollie O’Brien + Rich Moore – Train Home Jeremy Kittel Band : these are one of the groups that helped support the whole “Bach to Bluegrass” theme this year. For any who loved The Goat Rodeo Sessions–taking bluegrass or Celtic tinged music and classical-fying or jazzing it up a bit, you need to check this group out. Virtuosos.
