Northern Chords Festival 2022

Saturday sees mezzo-soprano Claire Barnett-Jones (winner of the Audience Prize at the Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 2021) and tenor Ben Johnson (one of the festival's mentors for 2022 and winner of the Cardiff Audience Prize in 2013) joining forces with pianist Tom Primrose and presenter Petroc Trelawney for a recital that mixes spoken word and song, with works by Purcell, Liszt, Vaughan Williams, Holub, Shakespeare, and Auden. On the Sunday morning, Jonathan Bloxham conducts Voices of Hope and the Northern Chords Festival Orchestra in Haydn's Little Organ Mass given as part of Holy Communion at St James’ and St Basil’s Church, and the festival concludes with Jonathan conducting the orchestra in Vivaldi's The Four Seasons with violinist Benjamin Baker.
