Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor Op. 37 arranged for piano and strings by Vinzenz Lachner (1881), with Beth Levin (piano), Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein conducted by Christoph Schlüren. Recorded live - March 5, 2017, Zeughaus Neuss, Germany.Vinzenz Lachner (1811-1893) was the younger brother of the composer/conductor Franz Lachner. Vinzenz spent 37 years as the court conductor in Mannheim, his students included Max Bruch and Hermann Levi.

Dutch violinist takes over German ensemble
Isabelle van Keulen is the new artistic director of Kammerakademie Neuss, in the Rhineland. She succeeds Lavard Skou Larsen, whose contract has expired after 12 years. The Academie, a chamber orchestra which specialises in little-known music, is also looking for a chief executive and an upgrade in its media profile.

British composer, Peter Seabourne’s www.peterseabourne.com Violin Concerto was recently premiered in its complete form in Germany by Fenella Humphreys www.fenellahumphreys.com with the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss www.deutsche-kammerakademie.de conducted by Lavard Skou Larsen www.lavardskoularsen.com The first two movements of the concerto were composed in 2003 and recorded by Sheva www.shevacollection.itwith violinist Irina Borissova and the Mainzer Virtuosi conducted by Dmitri Khakalin. The composer was commissioned to write a third movement to make this a full scale concerto.
