The Jack Quartet , one of Manhattan’s most consistently interesting and individualistic string quartets, is in residency at the Stone this week with sets at 8 and 10 PM; cover is $15. One of the highlights of their week is April 6 at 10 PM when they’ll be playing from Matthew Barnso n’s shapeshifting String Quartet No. 3, which is the centerpiece of Sibyl Tones, the Tzadik album featuring Barnson’s first three quartets. Fans of music that is either ghostly, or assaultive, or both, will be in for a treat. The recording also features the Arditti Quartet - violinists Irving Arditti and Graeme Jennings, violist Ralf Ehlers and cellist Rohan De Saram – playing Barnson’s String Quartets No 1. and 2 in reverse order.
