MusicZettel S3E9: The new NSW Syllabus pt. 2 – When ideology gets in the way of educative evidence-based practice
2024-03-21 19:00:00
Duration (h:m:s): 43:18
In this week’s podcast, I describe it as “the downer episode” – but sometimes there’s a lot of good learning to be had in reflecting in what’s wrong with such an important document as the first new music syllabus for 12 to 16 year olds in 21 years. My criticisms are NSW focused, but are applicable right around the world, in terms of curriculum reviews in music education. Music is my song Brother Oh Brother, with words by Nigel Featherstone, performed by Michael Lampard and Alan Hicks. Please comment on the blog post that hosts this episode! I would love this to be a conversation. https://humberstone.org/2024/03/21/musiczettel-s3e9-the-new-nsw-syllabus-pt-2-when-ideology-gets-in-the-way-of-educative-evidence-based-practice/ Here is an AI-generated transcript of the episode: S3E9-Syllabus-pt-2_otter_aiDownload You can listen to MusicZettel on Spotify, iTunes, TuneIn Radio, and any other major podcasting platform.
