Rediscovered rarities, new opera and young artists: I chat to Rosetta Cucchi, artistic director of Wexford Festival Opera

A factory of artists which started in the chaos of 2020 and worked, it became very fruitful. London Handel Orchestra at BST Hyde Park Open House
BST Hyde Park is a large scale open-air event taking place in Hyde Park over three weekend, presenting names such as Elton John, the Eagles and Adele, and as part of this Open House presents a variety of other types of event - Joe Wicks' with the world's largest HIIT workout, anyone?In what might be something of a first, on Monday 27 June 2022 the London Handel Orchestra, led by music director Lawrence Cummings and associate music director Adrian Brown, will be appearing at the festival with presenter YolanDa Brown in an all-Handel programme, including the Music for the Royal Fireworks, the Water Music Suite, four of the Coronation Anthem, and arias from Rinaldo and Solomon with solo soprano Rachel Redmond.Further information from BST Hyde Park's website.

Arvo Pärt's Passio at St Martin's Easter Festival

Good Friday features a performance of Bach's St John Passion when Andrew Earis directs St Martin's Voices with the London Mozart Players and the choir returns on Easter Saturday with a concert which pairs Allegri's Miserere with James MacMillan's recent setting of the same text, originally written for The Sixteen. The festival ends with a visit from the London Handel Festival, when Laurence Cummings directs the London Handel Orchestra and Nardus Williams, Rachel Redmond (sopranos), Ed Lyon (tenor), and Callum Thorpe (bass) in Handel's early Italian oratorio, La Resurrezione.
