Haydn day at Wigmore Hall curated by pianist Roman Rabinovich
Roman RabinovichPianist Roman Rabinovich has been exploring Haydn's keyboard music since 2016 when he played a six-recital series at the Lammermuir Festival, followed by a series of ten all-Haydn recitals comprising 48 Sonatas at the Bath Festival in 2017, as well as numerous single recitals all over the world. And he has issued two volumes of Haydn sonatas on First Hand Records. I chatted to him back in 2016, just before the Lammermuir Festival concerts, see my interview.On Saturday 9 July 2022, Rabinovich is curating a three-concert Haydn day at Wigmore Hall (originally scheduled for 2020 but inevitably postponed). Russian conductor dies with Covid
The emigre conductor Leonid Shulman has died at the Arlington Hospital Center, Virginia, from COVID-19. He was 89. A graduate of the Musin-Rabinovich factory at the Leningrad Conservatoire, he conducted every form of ensemble from symphony to balalaika. The Washington Post has an obit today.
