Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra performs the complete cycle of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos led from the first chair by LACO Concertmaster Margaret Batjer and featuring harpsichord "superstar" Mahan Esfahani, on Saturday, December 9, 8 pm, at Beckman Auditorium, Caltech, Pasadena, and Sunday, December 10, 2017, 7 pm, at Royce Hall, UCLA. The popular Brandenburgs offer an opportunity to showcase the immense talents of many of LACO's virtuoso principals, notably Principal Flute Joachim Becerra Thomsen , Principal Oboe Claire Brazeau and Principal Trumpet David Washburn.

Youth Orchestra Los Angeles recently completed its first tour, a 10th-anniversary road trip that took the kids from Northridge to Visalia, Fresno and finally Oakland, where they filled the Paramount Theatre for a concert conducted by Los Angeles Philharmonic music director Gustavo Dudamel. The Times asked 17-year-old violinist Ruby Becerra to document the journey and capture the experience through her eyes for these photos.
