Being able to see Brahms as he was at the time: I chat to Jérémie Rhorer about recording historically informed Brahms with Le Cercle de l’Harmonie

On their most recent disc, they have turned their attention to Brahms with recordings of his Symphony No. 1 and Violin Concerto on NoMadMusic with Stéphanie-Marie Degand, and in 2022 they will be continuing their exploration of Brahms symphonies as well as performing Bruckner. Not always to sing but also just to enjoy the atmosphere of the festival which is unique and to listen to great concerts and performances. I truly love coming back here. I was very happy to make my debut at the Grand Théâtre de Provence with William Christie, Les Arts Florissants and Lea Desandre at such great festival as Festival de Pâques. I am really amazed how both festivals are really incredibly well organized and are able to invite really top artists from around the world. Vittorio Gregotti, Architect Of The Archimbaldi Opera House, Has Died At 92
Gregotti helped design the 1992 Olympic Stadium in Barcelona and designed the Marassi stadium in Genoa for the 1990 men’s World Cup. He also designed the Grand Thèatre de Provence and Lisbon’s Bélem Cultural Centre. He contracted COVID-19 and died of pneumonia in Milan. – The Guardian (AFP)
