The year 1950 in classical music and in lyrical art
1950. With other artists, Pau Casals, Arnold Schoenberg and Igor Stravinsky influenced their time (modern & contemporary era). That year would see the birth of future classical or lyrical artists, such as Goran Bregović, while others would disappear. That year, new works would be composed, published or performed for the first time in public, such as “Stabat Mater, Op. 148” de Francis Poulenc, for example. That year, halls or orchestras would be founded or ceased to operate.
