Allegro maestoso - Andante - Presto Ingrid Haebler (fortepiano), Eduard Melkus, Capella Academica Wien, ottobre 1973, Mozart Saal, Wien organico: pianoforte e orchestra (archi, oboi, corni, trombe) esecuzione tratta dal sito Mozart-tower (http•••) lo spartito è disponibile sul sito del Mozarteum: (http•••) Questo concerto per pianoforte fu composto dall'undicenne Mozart a Salisburgo nel luglio 1767. Essendo basato, come il KV 37, KV 39 e KV 41 su materiale di altri autori, Leopold non lo inserì nel catalogo delle opere del figlio, redatto nel 1768. Probabilmente però faceva parte del repertorio che il bambino avrebbe eseguito nei futuri concerti a Vienna. Invece Köchel lo classificò come opera originale insieme agli altri tre concerti ed è per questo che essi occupano ancora i primi quattro posti nella serie dei concerti mozartiani. L'orchestra ha lo stesso organico dei primi due concerti, con l'aggiunta di due trombe che contribuiscono ad arricchire le sonorità e ad attribuire a quest'opera una maggiore identificazione col genere musicale del concerto, nel tentativo di uscire dalle convenzioni della musica rococò. Il primo movimento è tratto dal primo tempo della sonata op. 2 di Honauer, l'andante centrale è modellato sull'omonimo movimento della Sonata op. 1 n.4 di Eckardt, il terzo movimento forse si basa su un pezzo di Carl Philip Emanuel Bach. Carlton Vickers, alto flute NO EXIT New Music Ensemble, Cleveland State University Carlton Vickers is internationally regarded as one of today's most important performers of avant-garde flute music, specialising in the most demanding works of the contemporary and electro-acoustic repertoire. Vickers has remained a ubiquitous presence for well over two decades as flute soloist with the acclaimed Canyonlands New Music Ensemble/Maurice Abravanel Visiting Distinguished Composers Series, and the Cleveland based NO EXIT New Music Ensemble. In March/2013, Carlton Vickers presented the U.S. Premiere of Brian Ferneyhough's Sisyphus Redux for alto flute solo, as well as the U. S. Premiere of A Small Revelation for solo flute by James Erber. Subsequently, Boston/2015, saw the World Premiere of three major large format works for alto flute solo/electronics, James Erber's daunting Desire Lines for solo alto flute, the massive (22 minute) streaming for solo Kingma System alto flute by Marc Yeats, and Constellations (Process and Static) for alto flute and electronic sounds by Massimiliano Viel, each dedicated to Carlton Vickers. Upcoming for 2016, major commissions for solo alto flute by two of Australia’s most accomplished modernists, Chris Dench and Dominik Karski. Proposed title for Dench, L'aurore est une fille otant son collier d'etoiles ("Dawn is a girl, removing her necklace of stars.")
