One common question on double beat (metrical) understanding of pendulum and metronome indications is, how to apply this with triple meters. Since a dotted half note is hard to divide in two. From a pure theoretical approach this makes sense, in practice it turns out to be not so hard. Certainly not with a pendulum. L'Affilard (1705) is talking on this and so, it is about time (what's in a name :-) ) to share this with you. Lorenz Gadient is our host still in Ingolstadt, the author of the book Takt und Pendelsschlag that he is about to rework entirely, and that Authentic Sound is going to publish somewhere in 2018.
