At a meeting of the party's Moscow branch its leader Gennady Zyuganov said that Moscow was facing a lot of problems starting from growing number of crimes, uncontrolled immigration and traffic jams to 400 billion rubles city's budget deficit. He added that future mayor elections would help to solve them. Gennady Zyuganov confirmed that CPRF's candidate Ivan Melnikov had all necessary knowledge and experience to become a successful Mayor of Moscow. Ivan Melnikov will participate in the race for Moscow mayor's chair along with Sergey Sobyanin, acting Moscow Mayor who will ballot independently from any political party, Sergei Mitrokhin of the Yabloko party, Alexei Navalny, the anti-corruption activist balloting for RP-Party of People's Freedom, and Mikhail Degtyarev from the LDPR. The Moscow Mayor elections will be held on September 8.

Russian MVD Ensemble choir singing the Chinese anthem, March of the Volunteers! On 5 July 2021, the Communist Party of Russian Federation (KPRF) members in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Chinese embassy in Russia, and the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society held a gala concert at the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army in Moscow, dedicating to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 20th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation Between the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation. The concert program was presented by the Rosgvardia Academic Song and Dance Ensemble (also known as MVD Ensemble) under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia Major General Viktor Yeliseyev and famous Russian soloists.
