Last Saturday night, while the city was buried under a blanket of snow, a choice guest was warmly welcomed within the walls of Miller auditorium with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra (KSO). Midori Goto (but everybody calls her Midori), the Japanese violin virtuoso, honored the city with her presence the whole week in the context of the ORP (Orchestra Residency Program). After busy days of classes and meetings, she finally played. A delight to leave you speechless. The evening started with an interview of the artist by the conductor and director of the KSO, Raymond Harvey. The orchestra -without Midori- opened the show at 8PM with the Shostakovich Jazz Suite No.1 and ended it with Beethoven famous seventh symphony.
