As well, The Aviv Quartet performed in Brazil, China, Australia, Ireland, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Canada, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Belgium and Switzerland. In 1999-2003 The Aviv Quartet was awarded several government prizes, such as Israeli Ministry of Culture Prize (2001), German Ministry of Education Award (1999), Prize of Israeli Lottery Foundation - Mif'al ha Pais (2003) The Aviv Quartet studied with Gad Kogan, Irina Svetlova and Chaim Taub, than continued its studies with the members of the Alban Berg Quartet at Cologne Hochschule +••.••(...)), and Daniel Quartet at Rotterdam Conservatory. During 2002-2003 they collaborated with the Ysaye Quartet at CNR de Paris. In addition, the Aviv Quartet participated in courses and master-classes with members of Amadeus Quartet, Emerson Quartet, Julliard Quartet, Isaac Stern, Walter Levin, Henry Mayer, Leon Fleisher, Joseph Kalichshtein, Wu Han, Ivry Gitlis, Arnold Steinhard and Paul Katz. Aviv, meaning 'spring' in Hebrew, a signifier of new beginnings and the season of birth and fresh thinking encompasses the Aviv Quartet's artistic philosophy of stripping away artificial coverings "to reveal true nature, sharper definition and heightened awareness". Its recordings for Naxos, including works by Franz Anton Hoffmeister, Erwin Schulhoff, Erno Dohnanyi and Franz Schubert have been highly acclaimed for their freshness of spirit vivacity, and top class quality of string quartet performing. Čapljina BH. 24.02.2020 Evgenia Epshtein- violin Marijan Đuzel - piano Born in Russia, Evgenia Epshtein began her violin studies at the age of six and completed the High School for Gifted Musicians with Vladimir Milshtein. After emigrating to Israel in 1990. she studied with Arthur Zisserman, Yair Kless and Irena Svetlova at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music followed by Benzion Shamir at the Rotterdam Royal Academy, where she received her Master’s Degree. During her studies at the Academy she won several prizes and competitions and took part in masterclasses of Isaak Stern, Henry Mayer and Zakhar Bron. Evgenia Epshtein was a co-founder of the Aviv string quartet which won the 3rd Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, the Bordeaux String Quartet Competition and the Charles Hennen Music competition as well as other top prizes. The Aviv quartet was also proclaimed as the “Best young ensemble” by the Culture Ministries of Germany and Israel +••.••(...), 2008). As a soloist she has performed with Reconsil Sinfonieta Vienna, Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra, Zadar Chamber Orchestra, Split Symphony Orchestra, Bohemian Philharmonic, Oxford Philharmonic orchestra and Ashdod and Ramat Gan Symphony Orchestra. Her recitals include all major Israeli venues and radio broadcasts worldwide. She has also performed in festivals including the Estonian Baltic Festival, Gotland Chamber Music Festival and Ursus Chamber Music festival, Ameropa festival-Prague. (source: evgenia.epshtein.com ) Marijan Djuzel has gradually established himself as one of the most accomplished Croatian pianists of his generation. He attended primary music school in his hometown Imotski, where he learned piano from Alenka Milano and french horn from Ivan Glibota. He continued his education in Split, where he finished academic high school as well as music secondary school (piano, class of Kosovka Cudina). He graduated from the Music Academy in Zagreb as a student of Djordje Stanetti. Through the Erasmus exchange programme, he attended Vienna’s Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst (in the class of Jan Jiracek von Arnim), and upon the invitation of Dubravka Tomsic, he studied piano in her class at the Akademija za glasbo in Ljubljana. Finally, he specialized at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels under Aleksandar Madzar. In 2013, at the 14th International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, from a field of 259 candidates, Marijan entered the semifinals among the thirteen best contestants and gave a recital in Brahms Hall at Vienna’s Musikverein. He also participated in the prestigious International Telekom Beethoven Competition in Bonn 2017. Croatia Records published Marijan's first solo CD , Virtuoso Collection: Marijan Đuzel (live), recorded live in the concert at the Croatian Music Institute in Zagreb in February 2018, with pieces by Beethoven, Schumann, Bartok and Kempf. Đuzel has performed with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zagreb Soloists, the HRT Symphony Orchestra, the Zadar Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Opera of the Croatian National Theater in Split, under the baton of Pierre-Andre Valade, Robert Lehrbaumer, Veton Marevci, Hari Zlodre and others. He has also performed recitals in Croatia and abroad (Austria, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, and Thailand). He has performed at various renowned Croatian festivals and concert series, such as Musical Evenings in St. Donat (Zadar), Glazbeni umjetnici Zagrebu, Hvar Summer Festival, Svibanjske glazbene večeri (Sibenik), and Concerts in the Euphrasian Basilica (Porec).
