The concert explores the subjects of love, beauty, rage and jealousy with excerpts from the operas of Stradella, Vivaldi and Haendel, as well as madrigals by the contemporaries of Montev. Since its first edition, in 2002, Les Arts Florissants ’young singers’ academy, the Jardin des Voix has the main place in the scene of French professional training. A real breeding-ground for talents, it rained a whole "new generation of singers who became passionate performers and defenders of the baroque repertoire" as Wiliam Christie says. Sonya Yoncheva, Christophe Dumaux, Emmanuelle de Negri or Amel Brahim-Djelloul are part of those talents revealed to the public during its international tours. This edition presents Lucía Martín-Cartón, Léa Desandre, Carlo Vistoli, Nicholas Scott, Renato Dolcini and John-Taylor Ward. Licensed by Lukarn #wocomoBAROQUE

Pastorale héroïque in a prologue and three acts, Op. 7 (1753) Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville was greatly admired in his day. His opera Titon et l’Aurore was one of his most popular works, being held up as a triumph over the rival Italian style during the Parisian Querelle des Bouffons in the 1750s. The narrative of this spectacular opéra-ballet follows the tumultuous and seemingly unbreakable liaison between the goddess L’Aurore and her lover the shepherd Titon. Jealous gods and goddesses try to interfere through murderous intent and dramatic abduction, but true love ultimately conquers all in stage director Basil Twist’s acclaimed feast for the senses. Titon – Reinoud van Mechelen, tenor L’aurore – Gwendoline Blondeel, soprano Palès – Emmanuelle de Negri, soprano Éole – Marc Mauillon, bass-baritone Amour – Julie Roset, soprano Prométhéé – Renato Dolcini, bass-baritone Les Arts Florissants Conductor – William Christie Stage Director, Designer and Puppet Designer – Basil Twist Video Designer – Daniel Brodie Film Director – François Roussillon Filmed on 18 and 19 January 2021 at the Opéra Comique, Paris, France, without an audience, during the Covid-19 pandemic DVD 2110693 / Blu-ray NBD0131V Watch more interviews and trailers: (http•••) Watch more Naxos Audiovisuals: (http•••)/ Listen to Naxos playlists: Spotify: (http•••) Apple Music: (http•••) Follow us: Facebook: (http•••) Twitter: (http•••) Naxos Blog: (http•••) Website: (http•••)
