He was a soloist from 2006 with the Bucarest National Opera, where he interpreted the roles of Macduff Macbeth, Ismaele Nabucco, Lenski Eugène Onéguine and Tebaldo I Capuleti e i Montecchi. In 2009-2010 in Bucarest, he interpreted for the first time Alfredo La Traviata and Pinkerton Madama Butterfly. Ilincai has also performed in many concerts, including Carmina Burana, Rossini's Stabat Mater and Dvorak's Requiem. During the 2008-2009 season, he appeared as Macduff Macbeth at the Hamburgische Staatsoper and as Ismaele Nabucco at the Vienna Staatsoper. In Autumn 2009, he sang Rodolfo La bohème at the Hannover Staatstheater and in Covent Garden. Future engagements: La bohème at the Hamburgische Staatsoper in 2010, Macbeth and La Traviata in the same opera house in 2011, Faust at the Sferisterio Opera Festival Macerata in 2010, Eugène Onéguine at the Monte-Carlo Opera in 2010, Roméo et Juliette at the Opéra de Marseille in 2011 and the Teatro Municipale Santiago de Chile in 2013, La bohème in 2010 and Madama Butterfly in 2012 at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse.
