Ferrari) "There is no need to remind anyone what contemporary music owes to this interpreter". said last year G. Conde in "Le Monde". This year in Germany H.H. Stuckimschmidt has written - "She is a Wanda Landoska of present day music". Many composers have written especially for her, among them : M. Constant, M. Ohana, L. Ferrari, F.B. Mache, C. Halffter, F. Donatoni, Fr. Miroglio, I. Xenakis ... - no doubt because they discover like her and also thanks to her - as an american critic said after a recital in Chicago - "How fantasticly unique the old instrument still is". Elisabeth Chojnacka was born in Warsaw; "Master of Arts" from the High School of Music in Warsaw in 1962, came in Paris to study the baroque repertoire with Aimee Van de Wiele and obtained in 1968 a first prize for harpsichord at the Vfircelli's International Concourse. Soon, She will consecrate a part of her work to contemporary music. She is now playing in France works by Ligeti, Donatoni, Berio, Penderecki, and increasingly she plays works written for her. Nevertheless, in spite of her militant attitude in favour of the contemporary harpsichord, for her, music in "unique" and her repertoire extends for the 16th and the 20th century. Thanks to her unusual repertoire she has made guest appearances with great orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Cleveland and Minnesota Orchestras, the ORTF National Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras, the Warsaw Philharmonic, and the Suisse Romande. Has also appeared as a guest artist at many festivals, including the Royan Festival, the Paris International Music Weeks, the Bordeaux Sigma, the Warsaw Autumn Festival, the Gulbenkian Festival, the Coma Autumn Music Festival, the American Harpsichord Festival (N. Y.), and the Paris Summer Festival. Has given recitals in France, the U.S.A., Poland, the U.S.S.R., Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, Ireland, and Portugal. Has also made recordings for the broadcasting authorities of these countries. #Sperrhake #ElisabethChojnacka
