POLYNUSHKA (russische und ukrainische Folklore aus Berlin) www.polynushka.de Deutschlands erstes Gesangsensemble für authentische russische Folklore, POLÝNUSHKA singt Lieder aus verschiedenen Regionen Russlands und den Nachbarländern (Ukraine, Weißrussland). Während unserer Konzerte erzählen wir über die Lieder und die Traditionen und zeigen Fotos aus unserer Feldforschung. Unser Programm enthält Gesänge zu verschiedenen Feiertagen und Ritualen wie Weihnachen, Maslenica und Ostern, Frühling, Rusalki, Abschied vom Frühling, Erntelieder, Abwenden des Gewitters, Hochzeitsgesänge, Liebes- und Tanzlieder, Trauergesänge, geistliche Verse.

Narek Arutyunian, clarinet Fei Cao, viola Luca Ferrini, piano Clarinetist Narek Arutyunian is an artist who “reaches passionate depths with seemingly effortless technical prowess and beguiling sensitivity” (The Washington Post). As soloist with orchestra, his performances include the Copland Clarinet Concerto with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Alice Tully Hall, Artie Shaw’s Concerto for Clarinet with The Boston Pops, the Mozart Concerto with Oregon’s Newport Symphony and New York’s St. Thomas Orchestra, appearances with Prague Radio Symphony, the Kaliningrad Philharmonic, the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, and a recording of the Weber Concertino for clarinet with the New Russia State Symphony Orchestra. As First Prize Winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, Narek was presented in debut recitals in New York at Merkin Concert Hall and in Washington, DC at the Kennedy Center. He has also performed at Carnegie’s Weill Recital and the Morgan Library and Museum in New York, Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and for the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, the Lied Center of Kansas, Buffalo Chamber Music Society, Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota, Weis Center for the Performing Arts and Arizona Friends of Chamber Music. Mr. Arutyunian has performed extensively in Australia, Asia and in Europe, including at the Musée du Louvre in Paris and the Palazzo del Principe in Genoa. He has appeared at the Tanglewood Music Festival, Marlboro Music Festival, Juilliard’s ChamberFest, the New York Festival of Song, Krzyzowa Music Festival in Poland and Germany’s Usedomer Musikfestival. Born in Armenia, Narek’s family moved to Moscow when he was three. As a teenager, he won First Prizes in the International Young Musicians Competition in Prague and the Musical Youth of the Planet Competition in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a student of Evgeny Petrov, received a Bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School, where he worked with Charles Neidich, and then earned a Master’s Degree with Mr. Neidich at the Manhattan School of Music on a Leon Russianoff Memorial Scholarship.

Nacido en Moncofa (Castellón, España) Jose Franch-Ballester, es uno de los clarinetistas más prominentes de su generación. En el 2008 recibió el muy prestigioso premio Avery Fisher Career Grant, y en el 2007 fue uno de los pocos participantes seleccionados para el Carnegie Hall Professional Workshop con Emmanuel Ax, Richard Stoltzman y David Zinman, y seleccionado como uno de los “artistas emergentes mas prometedores” por la revista American Symphony League Magazine. Como ganador del Primer Premio en el prestigioso concurso 2004 Young Concert Artists International Auditions en Nueva York y el Astral Artists 2004 National Auditions en Filadelfia, se ha integrado a la plantilla de ambas organizaciones y ha realizado innumerables conciertos a través de Estados Unidos, Europa, Asia y América del Sur. Jose Franch-Ballester es miembro de la “Chamber Music Society” del Lincon Center 2 en Nueva York, con la cual ha grabado los Contrastes de Bela Bartok para Deutsche Grammophon. Ha realizado conciertos con artistas como Charles Wadsworth, Arnold Steinhardt, Warren Jones, Ida Kavafian, Frederica von Stade, David Schifrin, Saint Lawrance String Quartet, Jupiter String Quartet y con orquestas como la Orquesta de Radiotelevisión Española, I Musici de Montreal y la Orquesta de Saint Luke, entre otras. Jose Franch-Ballester está en demanda en numerosos festivales de música alrededor del mundo, como: Chamber Music Northwest, Skaneateles Festival, Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, Music from Angel Fire, e internacionalmente Usedomer Musikfestival en Alemania, el Verbier Festival en Suiza y el YCA Festival week en Channel, Tokyo, Japón. Ihn interessiert, was bleibt in der ständigen Erneuerung der Welt, dem Werden und Vergehen. In seinen Gedichten werden Mythen, Geschichte und Alltagserleben verwoben.
