He took his vows on 16 November 1766 in the Andechs Benedictine Abbey and was ordained priest on 20 January 1771. In 1780 he became the confessor of the Paulanerinnen Lilienthal Monastery in the Munich suburb of Au. In 1797 he succeeded Nonnusus Madlseder +••.••(...)) in Andechs as the last choir regent of the monastery. After the abbey was abolished in 1803, he received 365 guilders as annual pension and helped with pastoral care in the parish of Erling-Andechs. Among his students was Kaspar Ett +••.••(...)). As a composer, he mainly wrote sacred music; masses, vespers and other latin sacred pieces.
