Tadeusz Joteyko Chopin Tchaikovsky 1872 1910 1925 1932
Phillip Sear plays the fourth of a set of six pieces from around 1910 by the Polish (or Ukrainian?) composer, choir conductor, teacher Tadeusz Joteyko +••.••(...)). / Tadeusz Joteyko was born in Pochuiky, near Kyiv, but studied at conservatories in Brussels and Warsaw, and made his career there - becoming president and treasurer of the Polish Composers' Association in the last year of his life. His major work was probably his patriotic opera 'Zygmunt August' (1925), and he also wrote orchestral and piano music. Although much of his piano music (including this piece) is in a romantic style his music from the 1920s shows modernistic influences. This waltz falls somewhere between Chopin and Tchaikovsky stylistically. / Played by Phillip Sear (http•••) (Email: •••@••• WhatsApp: (http•••) )

I'm not sure why, but this piece somehow brings to my mind Vaughan Williams's song 'The Roadside Fire'.
