Amour partez 0:00 Original 4 part chanson by Claudin de Sermisy 1:04 4 part parody chanson by Thomas Crecquillon 2:31 instrumental arrangement for recorder, lute, harp and bass viol These two very different versions of the chanson "Amour partez" come from two of the most prominent composers of the Franco-Flemish High Renaissance. De Sermisy had acquired his homophonic style from the frottole and villancicos of the Spanish-Italian schools while Crecquillon used the somewhat more complex polyphonic textures of the Franco-Flemish school. I created both a purely vocal and an instrumental "performance" of Crecquillon's chanson as suggested by his publisher Tielman Susato. The MIDI files were created and uploaded by André Vierendeels to CPDL.org. I added text using the Yamaha Vocaloid encoder with MAIKA (Spanish language) and PRIMA V2 (English) voice banks. The instrumental parts were added using my iPhone app Music Studio 2. Text: Amour(s) partez, ie vous donne la chasse, non pas pour mal que mon cuer vous procure, mais faulx semblant qui met toute sa cure à decepvoir banit de ma grace. Translation: Love(s), go away, I give you chase, not for any bad that my heart grants you, but a false pretense which puts all its care to deceptively banish from my grace. Description of photos: 1.
