They pioneered interactive programs for students, adult amateur musicians and local seniors and homeless as Ensemble-in-Residence at Mainly Mozart with support from the Irvine Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts and ACMP. Founded in the summer of 2004 at Lyricafest, they have recently been hailed as “Excellent” by U-T San Diego and “an accomplished young foursome with a luscious sound and an experimental bent” (Repeat Performances), and maintain an active performance schedule throughout North America and Asia. The members of the Hausmann Quartet are violinists Isaac Allen and Bram Goldstein, violist Angela Choong and cellist Alex Greenbaum.
Mendelssohn Longy Bossert McGraw Katz Matt Haimovitz Swenson Somerville Cleveland Quartet Lyricafest 2013 2014

The Affettas first played together in January 2013, and instantly felt an unusual chamber music sympathy. All scholarship recipients at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, the quartet studies under the esteemed tutelage of Laura Bossert and Terry King. The Affettas are winners of the Longy's Student Voices competition, and made their radio debut in November, 2013 on WQXR's McGraw Hill Financial Young Artist Showcase. Hailed as "a great quartet" by former Cleveland Quartet cellist Paul Katz, and described as playing with "tremendous color and sophistication" by internationally renowned double bassist James Van Demark, the ensemble has played for musician notables such as Levon Chilingirian, Matt Haimovitz, Ian Swenson, and the Danish String Quartet. As proponents of music education, the Affettas have volunteered their time at El Sistema Somerville's orchestra program as well as Bridge Boston Charter School's El Sistema- inspired violin program. They served as ensemble-in-residence at the first-ever Winter Lyricafest in Lincoln, MA in January 2014. The Con Affetto philosophy of chamber music is that every piece of music bears vocality and conversation, however difficult to uncover or illuminate, and that musical conversations are what make the string quartet medium particularly captivating.
