Pierre Schaeffer Kulturhuset Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival 2015
Although music is often heard as a continuous stream of sound, it is also possible to pick out more distinct sonic events, sometimes known as sonic objects. Experiencing these sonic objects may involve other senses such as vision, motion and touch, in addition to hearing. Drawing on the works of the French pioneer of musique concrète in the second half of the 20th century, Pierre Schaeffer, music researcher Rolf Inge Godøy discusses aural perception and the relationship between sound and bodily motion in the experience of music. Lecture held 12 September 2015 at Kulturhuset, Oslo (NO) as part of Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival. Filmed by Benedikte Rønsen.

For electric guitar, bass clarinet, percussion, violin, live-electronics and animated light 2014 11.09.2015 Unedited Video Recording. Commissioned by: Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival Written for and performed by PlusMinus Ensemble Vicky Wright - Bass Clarinet Maarten Stragier - Electric Guitar Mark Knoop - Percussion Aisha Orazbayeva - Violin Program Notes Abstract: Cats were reared in a light-tight box in which the only source of illumination was a 9-psec strobe flash every 2 sec. This allowed them to experience visual form but they did not experience visual movement. Most sampled signals are not simply stored and reconstructed. But the fidelity of a theoretical reconstruction is a customary measure of the effectiveness of sampling. Sensate focusing is a term usually associated with a set of specific sexual exercises for couples or for individuals. Each participant is encouraged to focus on their own varied sense experience, rather than to see orgasm as the sole goal of sex. All info at (http•••) (http•••) (http•••) (http•••) (http•••)
