Frank Bridge Johanne Bock Bock Copenhagen Opera House 2018
Frank Bridge: Three Songs for mezzo-soprano, viola and piano Johanne Bock, mezzo-soprano Sune Ranmo, viola Galya Kolarova, piano March 2018 Chamber Music Concert Copenhagen Opera House 1. Far, far from each other 2. Where is it that our soul doth go? 04:12 3. Music, when soft voices die 08:25 Far, far from each other our spirits have flown, And what heart knows another? Ah! who knows his own? Blow, ye winds! lift me with you I come to the wild. Fold closely, O Nature! Thine arms round thy child. Ah, calm me! restore me And dry up my tears On thy high mountain platforms, Where Morn first appears./ One thing I'd know, When we have perished, Where is it that our soul doth go? Where, where is the fire, that is extinguished? Where is the wind? Where is the wind but now did blow? Where is it? Where is it? Where is it that our soul doth go? When we have perished./ Music, when soft voices die, Vibrates in the memory; Odours, when sweet violets sicken, Live within the sense they quicken. Rose leaves, when the rose is dead, Are heaped for the belovèd's bed; And so my thoughts, when thou art gone, Love itself shall slumber on.
Copenhagen Opera House Møller Larsen Decor Eliasson 1400
The Copenhagen Opera House is a donation from the A.P. Møller and Chastine McKinney Møller Foundation to the Danish people. It totals 41,000 square metres. Five of the fourteen storeys are subterranean. The main stage of the opera seats an audience of 1400. The Opera House is clad with southern German Jura Gelb limestone, and the foyer features Sicilian Perlatino marble. The wall of the auditorium facing the foyer is clad with maple wood, and the ceiling in the main auditorium is adorned with 105,000 sheets of 24 carat gold leaf, equivalent to 1.5 kilos of gold. The Copenhagen Opera House is designed by Danish architect Henning Larsen, and a number of Danish artists have contributed to the decor, among them Per Kirkeby who has created four bronze reliefs, and Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson who has contributed the three light sculptures for the foyer.
People usually visit the Copenhagen Opera House to see the performances inside, but the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series brought the action to the rooftop for stop #4 of the season. The world's best in cliff diving took the plunge from the roof, putting on a spectacular show for the local crowd.
