The 2014 mini-documentary on soprano Juliana Yaffé and her Yiddish Folksong Project. This film (beautifully produced by People's Television, Inc.) includes footage from Juliana's live performance at the National Opera Center in New York City as well as interview segments, in which she talks about the genesis of the project and her rediscovery of Robert De Cormier's classical arrangements of the 42 Yiddish folk songs. For twelve years, Juliana Yaffé was a full-time Principal Soprano at the German opera houses of Münster, Essen and Stuttgart. Solo guest engagements found her in San Francisco, Darmstadt, Aachen, Osnabrück, Kassel, Berlin, Miami, and with the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center Festival, New-York Historical Society, 92nd Street Y, Steirischer Herbst Festival (Austria), Westchester Chorale, Concordia Orchestra, Colorado Springs Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony, Oakland Symphony, San Jose Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, Istanbul Philharmonic, Orchester der deutschen Oper Berlin, Tokyo City Philharmonic, Orquestra del Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), Orchestra dell'Opera di Genova, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, and the Munich Graunke Symphony Orchestra. She has recorded American, German and Italian art songs for the Southwest German Radio Network. She is currently a member of the Voice Department faculty at the Mannes College of Music in New York City. Her excellent collaborators include her husband, conductor John Yaffé (piano), and established New York violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Vittorio Monti - Czardas Violin :Joo Young Oh At the age of 14, Joo Young Oh earned his first international recognition as a First Prize winner at the 1996 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York. Mr. Oh started playing the violin when he was five. Oh has made numerous solo appearances with various orchestras worldwide, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, San Jose Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic, Hungarian Chamber Orchestra, Prague Radio Symphony, Ukraine National Symphony, Salzburger Kammer-Philharmonie of Austria, Poland National Symphony, Tacoma Symphony, Massapequa Philharmonic, North Shore Symphony of NY, Aspen Music Festival Orchestra, LA Theater Orchestra, KBS Symphony and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Joo Young Oh has gone on to perform extensively in recitals throughout most of the major cities in the U.S. including Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Washington D.C, San Francisco and New York. He has also performed in cities around the world, including Berlin, Frankfurt, London, Prague, Sydney, Tokyo, Osaka, Vienna, Milan, Lyon, Vancouver, Lima, and Beijing. In 2003, Oh made his New York Debut recital at Carnegie Weill Hall. He had performed at Carnegie Hall (Issac Stern Auditorium), the prestige Wigmore Hall in London, Lincoln Centers Alice Tully Hall, Walt Disney Hall, Dvorak Hall in Prague, Grand Hall in St. Petersburg, Music Center of Los Angeles, Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall in Japan and many others. Oh has studied under the late Dorothy DeLay, as well as Hyo Kang, Stephen Clapp and Zakhar Bron. He is currently studying with Glenn Dicterow at the Juilliard School of Music in New York.

Ligeti Sonata for Cello Solo Biografía The young American cellist, Eugene Lifschitz, has been performing in recital and as soloist with orchestras around the globe since the age of 10 with solo appearances in Germany, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Romania, Russia, Spain and the United States. “Cellist Eugene Lifschitz gave a richly varied and impressively musical recital” and played with “beautiful intonation and amazing virtuosity.” —Beeri Moalem, San Jose Examiner Eugene Lifschitz is Principal Solo Cello of the Staatsorchester Kassel (Kassel Orchestra), the resident orchestra of the Staatstheater Kassel in Germany. The position was awarded Mr. Lifschitz by audition in November, 2014. Eugene has performed as soloist with the San Jose Symphony, the Fremont Symphony, the Filarmonia Pitesti (Romania) and the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra with which he gave his orchestral debut at age 10. Awards include: 2015, Eugene won 1st Prize ("Premio Citta di Padova") in the Soloists with Orchestra competition, in 2014, Eugene won 1st Prize (“Premio Citta di Padova”) for Strings Competition (Padova, Italy) and in 2007, he won 1st Prize in the Schlern International Music Festival Competition in Bolzano (Italy). Eugene has performed in recital with artists such as violist Paul Coletti, cellist Eric Kim, clarinetist Julian Milkis, violinists Daniel Hope and Ingolf Turban, the pianist Robert Levin, and the cellists Wolfgang Boettcher and Wen-Sinn Yang. He has appeared in live broadcast concerts on National Public Radio, on PBS with Michael Tilson Thomas’ series as well as broadcasts in Europe and Russia. Eugene has been principal cello of several youth orchestras including the San Francisco Youth Symphony, The Juilliard Symphony Orchestra, Moscow State Conservatory Orchestra, Colburn School Orchestra, Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra and the Orchester der Hochschule München. He is on the faculty of the International Academy of Music of Burgos (Spain) and the Festival Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (Italy). Teachers have included Natalia Gutman (Moscow Conservatory), Ronald Leonard (Colburn Conservatory), Wen Sinn Yang (Munich Hochschule) and David Soyer (The Juilliard School). Masterclasses with David Finckel, Suren Bagratuni, Joel Krosnick, Phillip Muller and Erling Blondal Bengtsson. Eugene is currently on professional leave from the master’s degree program at Munich Hochschule. In 2015, Eugene will be the featured soloist with the Orquesta Sinfonica Municipal de Piura (Peru), and the Padova Symphony Orchestra (Italy). Eugene plays a Frédéric Chaudièr cello (2004)
